I find your book club is so inclusive. It’s more like a coaching session which is so valuable.
I have participated in a number of book clubs led by Laura. Mostly for professional development. Laura leads each book with compassion and empathy at the forefront, whether we were talking about conflict resolution, marketing or time management. Laura always has the ability to take a text and ensure the information is relevant to todays context by ensuring the content is viewed through and inclusive lens. One of the last bookclubs I participated in, the book was written from a point of privilege, Laura was able to guide the group to look through that and focus on how the “nugget” of knowledge could be applied and used in our current context. I have loved every conversation that I have had in each book club and have walked away learning more than what I expected!
I have been blessed to have Laura Zielke as a small group leader. In the 6+ years of her leading our group, we were able to develop such growth, especially doing group studies such as “The Dream Giver” by Bruce Wilkinson and “Living Your Strengths” by Donald Clifton learning about our Top 5 Strengths (StrengthsFinder renamed CliftonStrengths). We not only learned about our own strengths but also those of others in the group and how we could best use our strengths in service to helping others to get to their Big Dreams.
When I think of the ideal book club facilitator, I think of Laura. She is prepared, welcoming, humble, genuinely interested in learning and sharing her knowledge, and works every time to make the discussion valuable for all members.
Laura is caring and compassionate and contributes positively to every event she participates in. Her dedication to diversity and inclusion has been instrumental in her successfully running countless book clubs. Her understanding and caring attitude have been exemplary. Her intelligence and knowledge, both inside and outside the workplace, have been inspiring, and her work on the Book club is genuinely commendable. I highly recommend Laura.

No. The Book Miners Club is not a faith-based group or a Bible study.
At the Book Miners Club, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and safe environment for all members, especially for LGBTQ+ and historically marginalized people. We deeply respect the lived experiences and diverse perspectives each individual brings to our discussions. We understand our journey involves exploring different viewpoints and ideas, valuing the richness that comes from embracing these differences. It is important to us everyone feels heard, respected, and valued, even when opinions may differ. We celebrate diversity and encourage open dialogue, free from judgment or expectation of agreement. Together, we create a space where authenticity, understanding, and personal growth thrive. This is a core value of BMC.
The Fall 2023 session begins on September 5th. Registration will remain open until September 19th or we reach the limit of 20 participants, whichever comes first.
Yes. In fact, we'll provide two types of replays for you:
📽️ Video Replays:
You'll have access to the video replay of the weekly discussions for six months following the conclusion of the book club. The replays will be hosted in our online community on Mighty Networks. Details will be provided when the book club starts.
🎧 Audio-Only Replays:
You can subscribe to our private podcast which will feature audio-only replays of each week's discussion. This podcast is only available to registered participants for the book club they are in.
Our community is located inside the Online Oasis™ and is accessible only to participants in the book club for which they are registered. Each book club will have its own small group.
We encourage you to download the free Mighty Networks® app so you can easily access the reading plan, watch the replays, and most importantly, connect with the other members in the group. We will not be using Facebook for this book club.
Any changes to this policy will be announced ahead of time.
BMC cohorts max out at 20 participants. We're keeping our discussion group(s) small because we value quality over quantity.
Yes, and no. For now, we are offering an expert-facilitated group discussion on Zoom every Tuesday night at 8pm Eastern.

Sometimes you'll enjoy a book so much you'd like to share it with your people, but for a variety of reasons, you'd like someone else to facilitate the discussion.
